As political realignments continue to shape the landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nasarawa State, supporters of Rt. Hon. Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu have expressed unwavering confidence in his leadership and potential win the governorship race come 2027.
In separate interviews conducted by The EYEWITNESS, supporters from across the state voiced strong optimism, citing Ombugadu’s track record, resilience, and deep connection with the people as reasons why they believe victory is closer than ever.
Mrs. Amina Yusuf, a trader and grassroots mobilizer from Lafia Local Government Area, said: “We have followed Ombugadu since his days in the House of Representatives. He has always fought for the ordinary people. Even with the recent party movements, our loyalty has not shaken. In 2027, we are not just hopeful, we are certain he will deliver the change Nasarawa needs. We have never been more confident.”
From Akwanga, Mr. Joseph Audu, a rice farmer and former youth leader, echoed similar sentiments: “Ombugadu understands the struggles of our farmers and miners. He brought development to our constituency when he was in the National Assembly. The people of Nasarawa North are solidly behind him. No amount of political noise can change that. 2027 is our year.”
On her part, Mrs. Rebecca Solomon, a teacher from Wamba, highlighted Ombugadu’s philanthropic efforts: “He doesn’t just talk; he acts. Many of us have benefited from his empowerment programmes and interventions. His brief movements between parties show he is strategic and puts the interest of the state first. We are more united and confident now than in 2019 or 2023.”
In Nasarawa Eggon, Mr. Samuel Garba pointed to Ombugadu’s resilience: “He has contested twice and shown he is a fighter who believes in the will of the people. The court battles and recent defections have only strengthened his base. Supporters across ethnic and religious lines are rallying behind him. We have never been more confident in a leader.”
Also speaking, Miss Fatima Abdullahi, a young entrepreneur from Keffi, focused on the future: “The youth of Nasarawa see Ombugadu as a bridge to progress. He combines experience with fresh ideas for mining, agriculture, and job creation. Whatever platform he chooses, we are ready to mobilize massively. 2027 will be different because our confidence has never been higher.”
Their views reflect a growing wave of grassroots support for Ombugadu amid ongoing discussions about his political future in the state. His backers insist that the momentum is firmly in his favour as preparations for 2027 intensify.
Political analysts note that Ombugadu’s popularity, built over years of representation and community service, continues to make him a key figure in Nasarawa’s political equation. Supporters say his journey has only reinforced their belief that he remains the best option to lead the state forward.
