In Islam, leadership is not a prize for ambition but a sacred amanah (trust) from Allah, as explicitly commanded in the Quran: “Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice” (Surah An-Nisa 4:58). A worthy leader must demonstrate proven integrity, competence, justice (‘adl), God-consciousness (taqwa), and selfless service to the ummah—qualities that demand communal support so long as they align with divine guidance.
Dr. Faisal Shuaib, OON, MBBS, MPH, DrPH, has not merely aspired to this standard; through decades of verifiable public service, he has fulfilled it. As Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule’s second term draws to a close in 2027, the people of Nasarawa State have a clear Islamic imperative to rally organically behind Dr. Shuaib—the man whose very campaign slogan, “Tafiyar Amana” (The Path of Trust), echoes this Quranic principle.
Dr. Shuaib is no outsider or career politician parachuted into power.
Beyond government service, his private actions reinforce taqwa and justice. Through the DFS Foundation he founded, Dr. Shuaib quietly delivers free medical and surgical outreaches, scholarships, solar-powered boreholes, and disaster relief to vulnerable women, children, and rural communities across Nasarawa.
This is amanah in action: using personal resources to uplift the weak without seeking political capital. His supporters call him “the marginal man” who bridges village reality and global expertise—exactly the just leader Quran 4:58 demands.
Crucially, his vision for Nasarawa is rooted in the same “Tafiyar Amana” ethos: accountability, transparent governance, citizen participation, and compassionate service. He envisions transforming Nasarawa into a model state of efficient systems, merit-based opportunity, economic prosperity, youth empowerment, improved healthcare and education, robust infrastructure, and unbreakable security.
Building seamlessly on Governor Sule’s revolutionary foundations, Dr. Shuaib promises holistic human capital development that reaches every LGA, restores public trust, and prioritises the common good over ethnic or partisan divides. His emergency-response expertise makes him uniquely prepared for the “emergency” challenges of 2027 and beyond—whether health crises, insecurity, or economic shocks.
This is not imported or imposed leadership; it is organic. From his grassroots foundation work in Toto to the growing “DFS Vanguard” and “Tafiyar Amana” movement, ordinary citizens, are already coalescing around him because they have seen him deliver results, not rhetoric. Supporting him is not partisan favouritism but a divine duty: backing the one who has proven worthy of the trust, just as the Prophet, (SAW) was called Al-Amin (the Trustworthy) long before revelation.
As Nasarawa prepares for 2027, the choice is clear. In the spirit Ramadan, Allah commands us to entrust amanah only to those who deserve it and to support righteous authority. Dr. Faisal Shuaib has lived this command. The people of Nasarawa, Muslims, Christians and people of conscience, should organically mobilise, pray, and stand with him to succeed Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule. In doing so, we fulfil a divine principle and secure a future of justice, progress, and barakah for our dear state.
Tafiyar Amana. Insha Allah.
