Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri joined Muslim faithful in Gulak, Madagali Local Government Area to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr festival, marking the end of the Ramadan fast with prayers and calls for unity and peace.
Speaking shortly after observing the two raka’at Eid prayer, the governor emphasized the importance of national cohesion. He urged Nigerians to continue to support efforts aimed at sustaining peace across the country.
He commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their bravery and sacrifice in protecting the nation’s territorial integrity, particularly in the fight against insurgency, describing their role as critical to Nigeria’s stability.
Governor Fintiri noted that Madagali, once a major hotspot of insurgent activities, is now witnessing relative peace, attributing the development to the resilience and dedication of security personnel.
He therefore called on citizens to complement the military’s efforts through vigilance, cooperation, and timely sharing of information.
The governor also participated in cultural activities, including a symbolic horse-riding display, reflecting the rich heritage of the North-East and a renewed sense of normalcy in the area.
