Sokoto state governor, Ahmed Aliyu has once again, remembered the well he drank from and showed gratitude from the memory of his heart by renovating, upgrading and expanding his Alma mater, Government Science Secondary School, (GSSS) Yabo,
The project which gulp over a billion naira was commissioned Thursday by his former principal, now District Head of Sabon Birni local government, (Sarkin Gobir of Sabon Birni), Alhaji Abdullahi Dangaladima.

Recalling the studentship days of Ahmed Aliyu with nostalgia, the former principal, said he remained the most happiest person to be alive and witness how his students have become not only very responsible, but also giving back to the society.
“I am greatly happy that one of my former students has grown, became responsible and decided to remember his educarional roots by giving back to this very school, GSSS, Yabo, being his Alma mater”.
While submitting that he is over joyed that the governor is investing massively in education, the District Head of Gobir said, “true leadership is determined by the quality of investment especially in the education of the future generations”.
The visibly happy District Head of Gobir also used the medium to thanked governor Ahmed Aliyu for his appointment to that exalted position of traditional stool”.
Speaking earlier, governor Ahmed Aliyu his joy knows no bond for only being a part of the memorable ocxassiin but also the one giving back to his Alma mater.
Giving reasons for his intervention, the governor recalled with nostalgia that the school has one of the best infrastructure, extracurricular and other lively activities when he was admitted then.
Decrying how those infrastructures have now gone bad, the governor reassured that he has now stepped in to ensure that his government adequately equips schools across the state to enable them provides quality education
“This event has also given us the chance to reunite and rekindle friendships as well as celebrate enduring bonds.
“Knowledge especially Science and Technology remain the prime mover in development and modernization.” Governor Ahmed noted.
The governor who reassured that his 9-Point Smart Agenda prioritizes education, added that he demonstrated that by allocating more than the 25 per cent UNESCO recommendation for the education sector.
Governor Ahmed after increasing the schools students feeding allowance by over 300 percent,, however admonished patens to enrol their children in both Islamic and Western schools to be able to compete with he global reality.
