The senator representing Taraba North Senatorial District has reeled out a long list of constituency projects and empowerment programmes executed across the district, saying the interventions were targeted at improving infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic opportunities for residents.The lawmaker, while highlighting achievements recorded between 2017 and 2025, said the projects cut across rural electrification, road construction, water supply, healthcare delivery, youth empowerment, and educational support in communities spread across the five local government areas of the district.Among the key interventions highlighted were rural electrification projects linking several communities, including Lau to Garin Dogo, CBN to Baba Ya’u, Mararraban Lamido Borno to Lamido Borno, and Mararraba Mika to Sabon Garin Mika.The senator also disclosed that, more than 15,000 solar-powered streetlights were installed across the 62 wards in Taraba North to improve security and stimulate commercial activities in rural and urban areas.According to the lawmaker, over 50 transformers were distributed to communities facing power supply challenges, while several electrification projects were completed to connect underserved settlements to the national grid.In the education sector, the senator said 360 students from Taraba North benefitted from scholarship support in tertiary institutions within the state, while more than 30 classroom blocks and office structures were constructed in schools across Yorro, Lau, Zing, Ardo-Kola, and Karim-Lamido local government areas.The lawmaker further stated that, four skill acquisition centres were established in Yorro, Zing, Ardo-Kola, and Lau to provide vocational training in ICT, tailoring, welding, and other technical skills for youths and women.On healthcare, the senator said key health facilities, including Bachama Hospital and Bandawa Community Hospital in Karim-Lamido, as well as Pantisawa Town Dispensary Hospital in Yorro LGA, were renovated and upgraded.”Medical equipment such as ambulances and X-ray machines were also provided to health centres in Zing, Yorro, Lau, and Ardo-Kola to improve healthcare delivery and emergency response services.”The lawmaker equally highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Kona-Lau-Karim-Lamido road, which he said had reached over 85 per cent completion up to Lau despite delays caused by a change in construction policy from asphalt to concrete pavement.He also referenced the facilitation of the N77.279 billion Jarmai-Bashar-Zuruk-Andame-Karim-Lamido federal road project linking Plateau and Taraba states, describing it as a major economic corridor expected to boost agriculture, mining, and regional trade.As part of empowerment initiatives, the senator said over 1,020 motorcycles and more than 50 tricycles were distributed to youths and small-scale entrepreneurs across the district to support transportation and income generation.The lawmaker added that, over 100 vehicles were donated to traditional rulers, community leaders, and political associates to strengthen grassroots engagement and mobility.In the area of water supply, the senator said 25 solar-powered boreholes and over 30 hand pump boreholes were installed in various communities across Taraba North to improve access to clean drinking water.He also disclosed that, cash grants facilitated through partnerships with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and ATBU Microfinance Bank benefited more than 1,200 residents between 2017 and 2025.The beneficiaries, according to him, also received vocational training and startup tools, including sewing machines, hairdressing kits, and cosmetic equipment.The senator further claimed that, over 250 constituents had secured employment into federal government agencies such as the Nigeria Customs Service, Immigration Service, Police Force, Civil Defence, Federal Road Safety Corps, and the Nigerian Correctional Service through his intervention.He said, the projects and programmes reflected his commitment to inclusive development and improving the welfare of communities across Taraba North Senatorial District.
